Google launched Buzz as one of its services. What is Buzz? Well.. Here’s what Google says about it:
So, basically, Google Buzz is some sort of RSS combined with all of your social networking, and it’s all with in your Gmail. Buzz also works on cell phones (iPhone, Blackberry, and Android). So Buzz is some kind of social network. But why do we need another social network if we already have Facebook, MySpace, Twitter…? I think Google Buzz should be an addition to all the social networks instead of replacing them. And I totally agree with what Augie Ray said:
“I expect experimentation but not wholesale switching in the foreseeable future,” said Forrester media analyst Augie Ray. “Buzz could end up supplementing rather than replacing users’ other social networks for now.”
So, in my opinion, we should start thinking about supplementing social networks, not replacing them.

I know I haven’t written anything since January the 12th. I had exams, so I needed time to prepare for them. Sorry.
Anyways, as you all might already know, Steve Jobs have presented Apple iPad on January the 27th. It is a great device that gives you incredible experience when you browse the internet. It is like a little book that you can navigate through touch. Steve Jobs also said that there is a SDK for the app developers. So, if anyone would like to write an application for iPad, feel free to do so.
As Apple launches iPad, it launches Apple Book Store as well. So now, you can buy, download, and read any book you want using your Apple iPad.
Another great news is that the gadget is only $499.00. This is amazing price for such a device. I am planning to buy one in close future.
Here’s the breakdown for cost on the hardware alone:

As you all might notice, I use Windows 7. I have about five programs that are not compatible with it. But this is not a big problem in Windows 7. All you have to do is to change the way the programs start. So, if the program is compatible with Windows XP, you can choose XP mode and successfully launch it in Windows 7. Here’s how to do it:

Have you ever wanted to have a 50″ or an 80″ widescreen LCD TV? I have, but I obviously do not have enough money to buy one. iTVGoggles are a lot cheaper and affordable almost to anyone. iTV Goggles also include stereo earbuds, a light shield, and a battery that can last for 4-5 hours. They are compatible with an iPod, Xbox, Nintendo Wii, laptop, DVD player, etc.
Now, the price is really low. It’s $309.95 for iTVGoggles Featuring 80 Inch Virtual Screen and $179.99 for iTVGoggles Featuring 50 Inch Virtual Screen. It looks really cool, and I might buy a pair of these in future.

Do you have a favourite program that you use all the time? If you do, I’m pretty sure you always wanted to quickly launch it using a keyboard shortcut. Well, now, if you own a copy of Windows 7, you are able to create a keyboard shortcut. It is pretty basic, but Windows Vista and below users might not find this option right away. Here’s how to do it

Are you bored with your Windows or Mac environment? Do you want to try something new? Well, go ahead and try Google Chrome OS! As I said in previous posts, I am a fan of Google products, and I try to use all of them. So, gdgt got a working version of Google Chrome OS for ya! Just go to http://gdgt.com/google/chrome-os/download/ and register. You’ll need VMware Player (or VMware Fusion for Macs) to get it running. VirtualBox can also use VMware VMDK images, but it isn’t always perfect. If you don’t know how to install it, please go to this website, and follow the instructions.
Now, this is a developer build, so it has A LOT OF bugs. In addition, the OS is very slow (at least on my computer). Overall, I liked Chrome OS. I liked the design and the idea. Personally, I think this is the future OS because we all are getting high speed internet, so why do we need to buy software in a store? Just buy it online, and use it online. No need to download anything.

Today, I was invited by Google to be a Google Wave Extensions Developer. I obviously accepted the invitation, and now, I’m not only a developer, but I got 8 invitations more. So, I decided to give them away again. But not so easy as last time.
To enter the contest all you have to do is post a comment saying why you want to get the invitation. I will be happy to give them away without the contest, but it would be not fair if I will give it to a person that do not need it. Once you have commented, please send me your email including your name (the one that you used to comment) E-mail: jac...@theitcorner.com. If you will not send the info to me, I will not be able to send an invitation to you. One more thing, as it says on the wave:
“Invite others to Google Wave
Google Wave is more fun when you have others to wave with, so please nominate people you would like to add. Keep in mind that this is a preview so it could be a bit rocky at times.
Invitations will not be sent immediately. We have a lot of stamps to lick.
Happy waving!”
So, please do not reply to me after 2 hours saying that you did not get the invitation yet. Last time it took about 1-2 days to get the invitation.

About a week ago, I got Windows 7 from Microsoft. As I said before (http://www.theitcorner.com/2009/08/15/windows-7-adjust-brightness-2/) I couldn’t adjust my laptop’s screen’s brightness. So I thought, “OK, when I will get the official release of Windows 7, I will be able to adjust the brightness.” Well, guess what? I was wrong. It took me an hour to solve the problem. All you have to is basically a)Install the driver for Vista. b)Update BIOS. I decided to find a driver for my laptop (Lenovo 3000 G530). I do not know what users of other laptops should do, but I believe it’s pretty similar for all laptops. So, here are the steps:
1. uninstall all intel display drivers in programs (add/remove section of control panel)
2. get in to device manager and uninstall all display drivers
3. DO NOT RESTART YET
4. download intel display driver for vista edition here:
5. install the driver you just download. you should get a message from windows saying the installation failed; in that case select ‘reinstall using recommended settings’. now it should install properly*. after install is done wait a few minutes for windows 7 to register the new driver. then go ahead and restart.

As you noticed, my blog was down for the whole day, that is because I was trying to move it to another hosting. So, finally I did it. Sorry for putting the blog to down status, but believe me, I got a lot of things that I did not have before by changing the hosting.
I am working on the blog’s design right now, so please tell me your wishes that you want to appear on the blog.
